I hope the series serves you and your business powerfully.

Enjoy!

Ritual 1

So, kicking off with ritual number 1…is the power of a morning ritual.

It is a known fact that many leading figures, business minds, athletes & high performers have a powerful morning ritual in place they consistently act upon that ensures they truly win their day.

A ritual that begins the moment they arise for a new day.

Jim Rohn famously said ‘You either run the day or the day runs you’ and if you want to be & perform at your very best, a morning ritual does just that by ensuring that you are primed and focused to take charge of the day and everything that lies ahead.

A morning ritual is simply a set of activities that prime you mentally, emotionally, psychologically and physically to unleash your best throughout the day.

As an example:-

  • Bill Gates & Barrack Obama start their mornings with a work out while listening to an audio book or reading while exercising on the treadmill
  • Tony Robbins begins his day with a 10 minute morning ritual comprising of breathing, prayer, gratitude and visualisation.
  • Richard Branson plays sport namely tennis before starting his day followed by a healthy breakfast
  • Oprah Winfrey meditates every morning for 20 minutes followed by exercise
  • Steve Jobs would never begin his day before looking in a mirror and asking himself “If today was the last day of my life, would I be happy with what I’m about to do today?” If the answer was no too many days in a row, he knew something needed to change.

One of many reasons morning rituals are so powerful, is because they interrupt the survival/defence/protection mechanisms that kick off as soon as we wake up, that essentially runs our entire day.

Our brain isn’t designed to help us thrive, its main function is for survival.

Your morning rituals can help you realign your thinking, focus & psychology on the most important parts of your life/world we normally neglect.

Owning each day can’t be left down to luck or ‘hope’. If we want to be more effective, productive and achieve Peak Performance, we must first demand it and command it from ourselves.

After all,

‘We create our rituals & our rituals create us’

If you haven’t already, I invite you to create a morning ritual that serves you powerfully.

Whether you choose to meditate, exercise, visualise, plan your day, practice gratitude and mindfulness (which is very powerful), reading or even starting your day with a healthy breakfast…

The key is to design a system that is not just achievable..but works very well for you.

Even if your morning ritual is just 10 minutes long, 10 minutes is better than nothing. You can then add to your ritual over time as what you do starts to feel very second nature & more effortless.

What will you do? I’m curious and it would be great to hear your answers in the comments box below.

Feel free to share your current morning ritual with me below if you have one in place or what ritual really inspire you that you’d like to take on and begin your day with.
